You’ll be more likely to see that your negative beliefs are actually fairly absurd, utterly untrue, or presumptions if you approach them from this perspective.

  1. Change your negative thoughts into positive ones.

When you’re in a mental funk, the goal isn’t to think positively all of the time—after all, bad things happen. While we have no influence over external factors, we do have control over our own thinking. As a result, the objective, according to Jason Guck, is to transform those negative beliefs into more realistic and productive affirmations.

  1. Try something completely different.

The rut was formed by your present situation and mindset—so why not try something completely out of your normal routine to improve those conditions? Mr. Guck advises changing up your habitual behavior is a great tactic to break out from the autopilot state that might causes you to feel stuck or bored.

“In terms of social interactions, this could be taking a beginner’s improv class, attending a community meet-up, or attending a gathering with people you don’t know. In the dating world, it may be going on a blind date without previously scrutinizing their social media ” he explains. In terms of your job, he recommends taking on a side project or talking to your supervisor on doing something new. More sentiments of reinforcement can sometimes be brought about by additional duties.
